The WEN 3962 10’’ bandsaw offers more customization for you to perform various types of cutting since it features 2-speed regime, a powerful motor (3.5 amps), bigger throat and max. Cutting depth, more blade choices compared the WEN 3960 9’’ model. It is a low-cost bandsaw yet very efficient for a workshop with limited space.
Construction of WEN 3962 10’’ bandsaw
The WEN 3962 10’’ bandsaw is a portable benchtop bandsaw with 2 pulleys and a looping blade (1/8-1/2’’ type) run with the help of a motor (3.5 amps). Unlike the 3960 model, this 3962 model has an iron casting stand which will support the machine to run at either 1520 or 2620 fpm. The bandsaw has a total weight of 73 lbs.
2-speed running regime of the bandsaw
When you need to cut various materials, 1-speed running bandsaw works more efficient than 1-speed bandsaw. This is because when you cut hard metals (aluminum sheet for instance), a fine, high TPI blade with slow speed will let the work done smoothly. Therefore, when you are dealing with a lot of material types, it is very useful to have a 2-speed running bandsaw rather than the other one.
WEN 3963 10’’ bandsaw supports to run at 2 speed (1520 or 2620 fpm), this is the common feature where can be found on full-size models, therefore, it is a great value to any workshop.
Powerful motor 3.5 amps.
This 10’’ bandsaw uses a 3.5 amps motor (which is higher than the WEN 3960 9’’ model, only 2.8 amps). Typically, a benchtop bandsaw at a small size (9’’ or 10’’ size) requires a motor power ranging from 2.5amps to 2.8 amps is efficient to perform cutting. The 3.5 amps motor lets the machine cut smoothly and never get loosing power.
This bandsaw uses blade ranging from 1/8-1/2’’ (wide), 72’’ (length) so you can choose a wide array of blade type for cutting. This is useful when you have to deal with intricate curved shape cutting where requires thinner blade (1/2’’ type for example).
Compared to 9’’ model, this is a great advantage since 9’’ model can only use blades from 1/8-3/8’’ mostly.
The machine has full equipment going along with, such as a miter gauge, rip fence, flexible working light, 3-1 dust port, ball bearings and 2 years warranty from WEN.
Highlighting parameter of WEN 3963 10’’ bandsaw

Benefits of WEN 3962 10’’ bandsaw
The WEN 3962 10’’ bandsaw allows you to perform cutting, cross cutting, resawing bigger pieces of wood (compared to WEN 3960 9’’ model) since it has a wider throat and cutting depth ( 9-3/4 inch throat x 9-3/4 inches wide). Therefore, if you need to cut bigger pieces such as making a guitar case or decorative frame, the WEN 3962 10’’ model is a good choice.
Mentioned above, this 2-speed operation will let you cut hard wood or non-ferrous materials smoother. Combined with a lot of blade choice, the bandsaw gives better cutting capacity than WEN 3960.
When talking about the portable model, resaw is not what you can expect because this is the capacity mostly found in the full-size model. However, the WEN 3962 10’’ bandsaw let you resaw without difficulty when using 1/2 blade type.
